He has served on the boards of and or on committees of agencies and not for profits including Cultural Careers Council of Ontario ( Workinculture), Access Copyright, the Book and Periodical Council, the Canadian Copyright Institute, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Coalition for Cultural Diversity, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Kingston Symphony.
As a professional musician
Mark performed with leading players and Canadian ensembles including National Ballet, Canadian Opera, Toronto Symphony, Array Music, Orchestra London Sinfonia (Principal Bass), Hamilton Philharmonic and Orchestre Symphonique de Québec. Participated in national and international tours, recordings and was a Royal Conservatory teacher. A hearing failure ended this career.
